Unless you ask the question, you will never hear the answer.
Sometimes businesses forget that the best way to find out what people think of their products and services is to, quite simply, ask.
And it couldn’t be easier to do just that with seven different ways of gleaning the all important feedback that will drive repeat business.
So what are these seven survey saviours? Buckle up here we go:
1. SurveyGizmo
Designed for ease of use this site offers auto-close dates, scripting control and browser redirect functions as well as excellent analytical tools and reporting functionality. This is the site for the business owner who has little experience of surveys. The free option allows a maximum of 50 responses per survey but an unlimited number of surveys.

2. SurveyMonkey
Big or small this is used millions of times each month by businesses, academics and nonprofits, like charities. Their own press states that all of the Fortune 100 companies use them .. so what’s not to love?
Pricing is from Basic to Platinum and can be free.
Even for free you get 10 questions per survey and 100 responses. Not bad for nothing. If you have the cash to spend then you will have access to survey templates and the ability to brand it as well as additional security features.
Survey Monkey has the right ingredients to cook up good client feedback.

3. Polldaddy
Who’s the daddy? The big benefit with Polldaddy is that it can be loaded into wordpress sites to allow small businesses to conduct polls from their dashboard. Polldaddy also offers an iPad app which allows users to capture feedback when they are out of the office. A Polldaddy survey also comes with Captcha verification as standard.
4. Qualaroo
Qualaroo attracts interest from businesses of all sizes, from start-ups to establised brands working in e-commerce and beyond. This site helps businesses to adopt the best SEO practices and to allow that information to generate leads and more sales. It’s when you realise that Groupon, Vimeo and Yahoo use their services, which includes targeting options, live chat solutions and A/B testing. Downside is the monthly pricing packages but worth a look.
5. WuFoo
Wufoo does what most of the others do but with the ability to use online forms for more than just survey data. This site will also allow payment collection information to be gathered and the page-building functions offer more than a basic service. WuFoo forms will collect files, organise your data and register participants for events. Their ‘Gratis Account’ is a worthwhile free tool for any business.
6. Marketizator
These guys do the lot under one banner. Surveys, A/B testing and web analytics are bread and butter to this site. They offer a free trial before you buy and prices are good for start-up firms. The downside? No free package. But what you get is worth having for the small monthly outlay. With a marketizator survey report comes substantial insights that will help with future decision-making.
7. Checkbox
If you’re a charity checkbox has a targeted non-profit option that has attracted attention from some relatively big players. Checkbox allows subscribers to create their own question libraries of FAQs to reduce repetition and keep data consistent across multiple surveys. Pretty neat! But while they offer text merging and data export as well as social media sharing their basic plan may be expensive for small firms.
